2,026 Drones Paint Victoria Harbour’s Night Sky in a Spectacular National Security Showcase
Major 2,026-Drone Show Lights Up Victoria Harbour
To commemorate the 11th National Security Education Day on April 15, a large-scale drone light show was staged over Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong, featuring 2,026 drones illuminating the night sky outside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at Golden Bauhinia Square.
Organized by Bauhinia Magazine under the Purple Culture Group, the event was supported by OWOWWW, contributing to the creative execution and technical delivery of the large-scale aerial visual performance. The show delivered a powerful public presentation of national security awareness through a 15-minute, ten-chapter drone light narrative held in two sessions.
April 15 National Security Education Day Brought to Life Through Drone Light Art
As a key cultural and educational initiative for April 15 National Security Education Day, OWOWWW helped bring advanced drone choreography, 3D visual effects, and synchronized lighting technology together to present national security concepts in a vivid and accessible public format.
The opening sequence featured the official National Security Education Day emblem set against Hong Kong’s iconic skyline, symbolizing unity, stability, and civic awareness.
Ten-Chapter Visual Narrative Across the Sky
The performance unfolded across ten structured thematic chapters, covering key dimensions of national security including historical heritage, cultural and social security, territorial integrity, ecological protection, and space exploration.
Key visual highlights included formations of the Great Wall and a golden dragon symbolizing national strength, a Chinese white dolphin emerging from Victoria Harbour representing marine conservation, and aerospace-themed visuals featuring rockets and satellites.
The finale displayed the message “National Security, Family Prosperity” alongside Hong Kong’s skyline and traditional sailing imagery, reinforcing the link between national security and social stability.
Public Engagement and Youth Creativity Integration
The April 15 event also incorporated creative works from Hong Kong students through a drone design competition organized by the Education Bureau. Selected youth concepts were integrated into the show, including a historical segment referencing the Dongjiang Column and Hong Kong’s wartime heritage, connecting historical memory with contemporary national security education.
Large Public Turnout at Victoria Harbour
A second performance at 9:30 PM allowed broader public participation, drawing large crowds along Victoria Harbour to witness the synchronized drone formations illuminating the night sky.
Through its involvement, OWOWWW supported the integration of drone technology, cultural storytelling, and large-scale visual execution, contributing to a landmark National Security Education Day event in Hong Kong that enhanced public understanding through immersive aerial art.
